The South Florida Taiko Dojo Scholarship Fund
This program directs funds for new students to participate in dojo classes and workshops who otherwise could not afford to attend. Students receive a full scholarship of our monthly membership dues ($60) and attend classes or workshops regularly. This program is available for a six month period for new dojo members or as needed, if no new student make a request.
The South Florida Taiko Dojo offers monthly memberships and drop-in classes taught by Fushu Daiko performing members. Unfortunately, not everyone with the dedication it takes to practice taiko drumming have the means to pay for a membership and are only able to afford one, maybe two classes per month, at $20 per class.
South Florida Taiko Dojo memberships
$60 for 4 classes per month
$85 for 8 classes per month
$135 for Morikami session (5 classes) or workshop fee
$150 for 12 class intro (over three months)
Dojo fees are used to pay dojo rental space, instructors, staff, and drum repair.
Scholarship funds are awarded on a case by case basis and distributed either in full or partial, depending on need and funding that is available. The scholarship funds may also be used to pay for workshops taught throughout the year.
Attending a regular weekly classes is the best way to learn any new skill and taiko is no different. Please consider supporting taiko enthusiasts and practitioners on their journey to learning the art of taiko drumming by giving to our South Florida Taiko Dojo Scholarship Fund.
